Development environments are a common source of friction, inconsistency, and security risk. In this hands-on workshop, participants learn how to build fast, secure, and scalable cloud development environments on AWS using modern platform engineering practices.

Attendees deploy production-ready environments on Amazon EKS, design reusable templates to standardize developer workflows, and explore AI-assisted coding and agentic workflows using Amazon Q Developer and models available through AWS Bedrock. Through practical exercises, participants apply security, access control, and automation patterns that eliminate "it works on my machine" issues while maintaining enterprise-grade controls. The session focuses on real-world tradeoffs and platform-as-a-product principles to help teams modernize development infrastructure without slowing developers down.
