Stranger platforms: The two sides of observability in your IDP
What happens between Dev creating and committing code and it getting deployed? And what can go wrong? Learn how observability can be used from Dev through IDP and back to identify issues before they slow down your DevEx!

An internal developer platform lives in two worlds. In the right side up, developers rely on self-service observability to build, deploy, operate, and debug their apps. In the upside down, the platform itself must be observable to ensure reliability and performance and to understand usage patterns and adoption. These two worlds are not separate. Improving observability of the platform directly improves observability for the applications built on top of it. This talk shares real-world OpenTelemetry-based best practices for observing core platform layers such as Git, Argo, Backstage, and k8s, and for applying those practices to apps and services deployed through the platform.
