How to make accessibility observable

This talk covers how we can treat accessibility as a measurable signal that deserves the same continuous monitoring we give to other critical aspects of our applications, like performance and uptime.

Accessibility testing is often split between automated tools, such as Lighthouse and axe-core, and manual checks, such as keyboard navigation and focus behavior. The results usually live in static reports, making it hard to spot regressions or measure long-term impact.

In this talk, Victoria will share the results of a small experiment she conducted to set up a system that continuously monitors and visualizes accessibility changes on her website over time.

Attendees will learn how to:
• Capture real user interaction signals and automated audit data
• Structure the results as time-series logs for Grafana
• Build dashboards that show regressions and improvements

Organizations can take inspiration from this approach and adapt it to their own environments, possibly expanding it into something more robust and tailored to their specific needs.
