From code to recovery: Using IaC and cloud governance to build a resilient cloud environment

Most disaster recovery plans fail not from lack of intent, but because they rely on manual, fragile processes. In this hands-on workshop, presenters will break a cloud environment and recover it using infrastructure as code and policy-driven automation. They will show how Firefly supports an IaC-first backup and disaster recovery approach by continuously capturing infrastructure state, mapping application dependencies, and generating accurate, parameterized Terraform modules that represent the full stack. These modules can then be used to reliably recreate or restore environments across regions. Policy-based coverage helps ensure critical resources are included in backup scope, while drift detection highlights risks before recovery time. The result is a repeatable, code-driven recovery pattern that reduces downtime and removes guesswork during incidents.
