From Backstage to business value: Nexa and the standardized developer experience

In this talk, Rob explains how Rabobank evolved from launching a Backstage-based internal developer platform to delivering measurable business value with Nexa, a unified enterprise experience for IT. Rather than adding another portal, the team treated the platform as a product by standardizing managed services, embedding security and compliance into ready-to-use development stack initializers, and delivering orchestrated golden paths with governance by design. The session shows how executive sponsorship, co-creation, and an enterprise-wide mandate accelerated adoption and aligned architecture, operations, and HR around a shared goal: freeing engineers from red tape.
