Beyond access: Building the GenAI platform behind 3000+ developers at Booking.com

AI adoption doesn’t scale through access. It scales through the platform.
At Booking.com, enabling GenAI for 3000+ developers meant going beyond tool access and building shared engineering foundations: governed MCP access, reusable skills, discoverability, dynamic tool-loading patterns, and workflows that bring the right context to the right task. In this talk, we’ll share how we turned GenAI infrastructure into repeatable developer workflows, including Dynamic MCP patterns that reduced tool-definition token overhead by more than 80%.
We’ll connect the platform story to a real Booking.com engineering workflow: CIF, our Booking-native GenAI approach for legacy code understanding and modernisation planning. CIF helps engineers analyse complex legacy actions in minutes instead of days, while keeping humans in control through review, guardrails, and traceable context.
