Traditional security is dead (and why that is a good thing)

The traditional approach to security is no longer adequate in today's world of platform engineering and rapid cloud-based deployments. As software development and delivery processes accelerate, security can no longer be seen as a roadblock, but instead become a driving force behind digital transformation.
Talk abstract

The classic approach to security is no longer sustainable in the era of platform engineering and cloud speed. As software development and delivery processes accelerate, security must shift from being a roadblock to becoming a catalyst for digital transformation.

The goal of security is not just to ensure safe runtime protection, but also to assist teams with defining and achieving security objectives. Therefore we require a continuous approach to security, focusing on delivering the correct feedback to the right stakeholder at the right time.

We will look at how modern security teams implement a continuous approach to security, integrate with development, and achieve better results than traditional methods.

Attendees will leave this talk with a better understanding of:

  • How platform engineering has impacted traditional security roles
  • How  organizations can deal with organizational conflict
  • How modern security teams implement a continuous approach to security
